India begins world's biggest repatriation mission
Over the course of 7 days, India to fly 64 flights to carry 14,000 Indian nationals who are currently stuck in foreign countries- under mission #VandeBharat.
COVID-19 CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY
In response to our civic duty, officers of UNADAP have given large portions of their income to support migrant workers, families with low income and the destitute; with financial assistance and food rations. We have reached out to civilians in the cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. We have provided face masks and hand sanitizers to Bangalore city police. UNADAP has made financial contributions to the Archdiocese of Bangalore (BMSS Disaster Relief Fund) for their outreach programs towards the distribution of food items to the poor.
As UNADAP remains closed and perhaps uncertain of reopening in the coming months, every single employee will still receive their salaries in full.
We have restrained from posting pictures of our acts of civic charitable duty, as we feel that we need to protect the dignity of the beneficiaries and not reveal their identities.

COVID-19 ALERT
The World Health Organization (WHO) has considered the COVID-19 as a pandemic and the situation of spread is about to worsen over the next few weeks. The UN offices in New York, Geneva and Vienna have been shut, except for the WHO and essential staff.
Most UN officers are expatriates and are designated oversees, hence they are stranded and unable to travel to be with their families due to travel bans. Medial workers have been sacrificial in the frontline of this war against COVID-19.

Both the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union Agenda 2063 recognize the importance of peace and stability, not only as critical enablers but also as important components of sustainable development. In line with this aspiration, Africa has also continued, with the support of the United Nations and development partners, to address emerging challenges to peace, security and development, such as the rise of terrorism and violent extremism as well as the growing number of migrants, refugees and internally displaced persons. In this regard, African countries continue to attach great importance to tackling the root causes of conflict such as youth unemployment, inequality, and economic and social exclusion, including through the African Peace and Security Architecture and the African Governance Architecture. Recognizing the critical needs and role of women, the African Union declared 2016 the African Year of Human Rights with Particular Focus on the Rights of Women.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar

Celebrated former top diplomat Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has been appointed the new Minister of External Affairs. Jaishankar, who was previously the foreign secretary during the Narendra Modi government's first term in office, was a surprise addition to the Narendra Modi Cabinet 2.0, which took oath on Thursday.
Before he became the foreign secretary, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar served as India's ambassador to the United States as well as China.
A 1977-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar played a major role during the Doklam stand-off negotiations with China. The 2017 Doklam stand-off was among India and China's worst crises; Chinese and Indian soldiers were engaged in an eye-to-eye confrontation for over two months.
Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who had China expertise thanks to his experience of serving as Delhi's ambassador to Beijing, led the negotiations to resolve the crisis.
During the Manmohan Singh years, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar was involved in negotiating the landmark and controversial Indo-US nuclear deal.
Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is the son of late K Subrahmanyam, one of India's leading strategic analysts. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is a graduate of St Stephen's College and has an MA in Political Science and an MPhil and PhD in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
S Jaishankar is married to Kyoko Jaishankar and has two sons and a daughter.
In 2019, S Jaishankar was conferred with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India.

Secretary-General’s message on Human Rights Day
For 70 years, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been a global beacon – shining a light for dignity, equality and well-being … and bringing hope to dark places.
The rights proclaimed in the Declaration apply to everyone — no matter our race, belief, location or other distinction of any kind.
Human rights are universal and eternal.
They are also indivisible. One cannot pick and choose among civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
Today we also honour the human rights defenders risking their lives to protect people in the face of rising hatred, racism, intolerance and repression.
Indeed, human rights are under siege around the world.
Universal values are being eroded. The rule of law is being undermined. Now more than ever, our shared duty is clear: Let us stand up for human rights — for everyone, everywhere. Thank you.

Dr. Dixon had presented a research paper at the Constitution of India on 'Pornography' and how it's consumption has impacted sexual violence against women and children in India.

Dr. Dixon: With the ongoing persecution of minorities; be in sexual or gender minorities, or race and cultural minorities, the world we live is facing an aggravated assault on this section.

"Federal/ Political Land Dispute" & "Settlement and Hostage Negotiation."
SESSION ONE:
Training to handle demographic land dispute and settlement of two peoples' group with the endangerment of genocide.
For land settlement, Dr. Dixon had to simulate as the country representative for the right to self determination as a peoples group. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations were the observers. The final agreement was to call for a truce and to allow minorities the right to education, the right to mother tongue, the right to public sector jobs and the right of the minority group to run for office. The ultimate goal would be for 'one nation one people'.
HOSTAGE NEGOTIATIONS
In the picture, are members of the hostage negotiation team simulation at UNOV. Not mentioning their names for their privacy, the lady in the picture is a diplomat of Brazil to Rome, the gentleman next to her is a permanent representative to the UNOV from the Arab Nations League and the gentleman next to him was the Mediator, is the First Secretary at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Vienna.
What we see on television and the dramatic intensity of a hostage situation in nothing compared to a simulation or the real deal.
Dr. Dominic Dixon, Executive of UNADAP was a delegate along with diplomats to the UN.
These are very real situations, the names of states and embassy have been changed.
